Continued Airport Rambling

Alright, so Im at the airport and still with out internet access. I figure I should just keep writing though as it will make people happy with all these updated blog stuff. But I did finally get around to buying a book to read and pretty much throw out when Im done, I caved and bought the book One Day which is what the movie is based on, even though I try not to buy ones where I know what happens. Technically though I have only seen the preview so I don't fully know what happens. Anywho, I should have showed up at the airport a long while ago. This one seems to be the place to be, since almost every place possibly, not excluding on the ground, hidden under signs, and any place you can pretty much walk there is a body sprawled out sleeping and the shops are still open so its pretty much a free for all. I am glad though that I went to the museum and show. The musical was pretty kickass. I don't think it ranks very high in my musical list but for the music and everything it was pretty good. The fact that it was written by Queen too is pretty cool. I completely forgot until they started talking that they would have british accents and it would be very set in London. It was very much the musical to go to for a London feel. It very much made me miss busting out singing with my mates though, I wanted to sing along right there in the theater. I kind of did actually, albeit very, very quietly. It efficiently killed about 4 hours for me though which was nice. It is a very odd thing when your doing things and hoping, hoping the time will go way faster. Ending at about 22, I took the tube to my bus stop in order to know where it was for my 2 o'clock bus. Turns out the stop for the tube ends at one of the rail stations that I had been in before so I pretended to wait for a train for about an hour in order to sit somewhere since there was seriously no where open around the neighborhood, I checked. After they kicked me out I wandered back to the empty bus stop and then did some more checking of the neighborhood. Am I dang glad I wandered back to the bus stop after that though because at about 24:15 there was 9 people waiting for a bus at the stop, all with the sufficient amount of luggage. I sat with them thinking in my head that they were all going to jump on a bus 15 minutes later. Turns out I was very wrong and they all waited for an hour. Luckily the driver didn't seem to care that my ticket said I could only ride a different bus an hour out and let me on the bus. Almost the whole ride was spent with my head against the window staring at the little hammer they have attached to the wall in order to break the glass in emergency. My thought process was that there's no way in heck that tiny hammer is going to be able to smash that giant thick paned glass. Unless the person had a ton of adrenaline from their emergency and hacked at it in an overhand manner, though I feel that this would not usually be the explanation of correct procedure. Thankfully (or not depending on how you look at it) we didn't have an emergency so I was unable to see whether I was correct in my thinking or whether the hammer really was strong enough. The bus ride also contained a slight mishap with my contact. My eyes by now are dried out so my contact managed to pop out on the bus. Being the handy man I am I pored a little old water from my water bottle cupped in my hand over the contact. Now since I was on the bus I couldn't just shake the water off like I normally would use as a sufficient action, so I had to make absolutely positive in the dark that I was in fact holding my contact in the other hand before I sucked up the water, cause there is no way in heck that I want to eat my contact. Overall I was successful but after I got to the airport I immediately put on my glasses. So now I'm here, sufficiently early and comfortable with my hot chocolate and new book, but unluckily with internet that costs about 14 pounds. Way disappointing since I know theres a girl sitting somewhere waiting for me to tell her when we should skype and I have no way to tell her that it turns out it won't be happening. So I'm sorry way in advance from posting this Mere.
There's me all caught up on my happenings. Now for some extra thoughts I've thought. I've come to realize that no matter how much I used to think I talked to myself in my head, it has become alarmingly intense as of recent. If you have seen scrubs you know to what I'm referring, or actually most people I know relate to me in this fact. The thing is I have taken to having two part conversations and just really thinking loudly in my head and frequently. One of the things I have definitely started doing is writing this blog in my head as everythings happening so I can figure out how I will relate and write about it later. Whether this is a good or bad thing I have yet to decide.
Some more London observances as I am about to leave the continent. These were previous observations but I never remembered to write them. For one the street lights turn yellow both ways. By this I mean that in the states we go from green to yellow to red. But here in addition it goes from red to yellow to green as well, in order to let people know to start revving their engines and move their foot to the gas pedal I guess. Another quirk that I have yet to figure out how to exactly use and continually forget or don't have the chance to observe anothers use of it, is their dang sinks. I have yet to run into a normal one fountainhead sink were you can adjust the temperature accordingly. Nope, every sink has two faucets, one for freezing and one for burning. My approach is to either just pick the freezing so that I'm to numb to care or to turn on both and quickly alternate either hand between them, half splashing between the two. I have yet to know the tried and true way to do it, I lay in doubt that my way is anywhere close to correct.
Alright my computer has only enough power left to ensure that it will work when I find internet and no plug in so I will close this and start, probably finish, my new book. Btw the best way to get rid of all those stinking pences and pound coins is to buy a book in the self service machine and just start chucking all your coins in. Turns out when I ran out of the coins in my pocket I was 17 pence short. The bullocks of that was thinking that I had just spent 30 pence to get into the freaking bathroom. Luckily I found a 50 pence in my backpack so that I didn't have to waste all that work and use a 20 pound note. I already have some euros in my pocket from dog sitting so the transfer over has already begun. Curious as to how many different currencies I'll have in my wallet by the end of this trip. I don't think there is very many in Europe (please excuse my ignorance, lack of research, and lack of internet at the moment). I am very excited to get to Spain, take a shower and go to sleep. Yes that is what I am excited to do in Spain at the moment. The shower at St. Christophers Inn was amazing. Not in a good way either, in a way that I cannot believe there is 15 rooms with at least 8 people each all sharing this place. There was one bathroom where the door said toilets and showers. In their mind I think the just decided to put the S in case there somehow was amazingly room to add on someday. Picture the size of a plane or train bathroom then without changing the size of the thing shove the sink to the side next to the toilet and toss in a shower straight across from the toilet. That was the whole thing, so the entire floor and the entire thing for the matter was covered in an inch of water since there was no way to not have water come out of the shower for 5 inches. It was just a mess, no way was I going to try to take a shower there and not allow people to pee while Im doing it. Alright done with the rambling, I will update on how Spain is in my next post. And please, please comment on the post if you read it. I wish there was a like button or something easy. I can see that there has been a ton of views on the blog but I would like to know that that means there is actually people reading it and not say my family just repeatedly refreshing the page and faking my out. Just a little short comment would bring cheer to my heart and give me a little push to keep up this journey. As I've said before Im still having a hard time with this whole being alone thing and have been tempted to end it. I am very much hoping that the change of venue will bring me the same luck the beginning of this journey had in making friends. So please help me out with a word of encouragement or praise to the blog and I will love you forever :)

  1. alright!! i can't wait any longer for someone else to comment first:) Great to hear from you.

Can't wait to hear about Spain. Think it is funny reading about your faucets hot and cold and the shower thing - I think you will find that is way more typical over there then you think:)
Keep those 2 way conversations going:)

  2. I loved this post, it was absolutely hilarious. I kinda now want to draw a mini comic of you smashing the window with your tiny hammer xD Plus your descriptions of you chucking money into the machine and the hobbit sized bathroom made me chuckle. I'm sorry that things have been tough for you and I wish I was there experiencing the whole thing with you! I've heard that the first couple of weeks are the hardest but if you stick it out maybe you will meet some people and won't have to be alone anymore. The musical sounds so cool! I definitely would have been singing along as well (probably would have gotten us kicked out :P) We'll have to do that too sometime after out Harry Potter tour :D Miss you lots, hopefully we'll be able to connect on skype sometime in the near future xD <3 x1000000000000000

You have already accomplished a lot. Think of all you have done in the short time that you have been there. Plus, you are really listening to yourself talk. Great!! = ) Can't wait to read your next post in Spanish! Love you.
