Race Track Valencia and Spanish Food
Starting this post out saying that if you ever go to Spain get the chocolate Kinder Bueno. It is sooo good, pretty much the same as my favorite American chocolate Rocher, but almost close to as good. Anyhow, last time I ended with putting only a little bit of Valencia in at the end of the post. Valencia was so pretty. Theres a long strip of park alone the whole side, kind of cutting through the city that used to be a river but since then all the water has dried up and so they put in a beautiful park. Its so sick because each time you cross under a different bridge the next section of the park is completely different then the last, some have fountains, some statues, some very sour orange trees (yeah we kept trying at least 5 different ones hoping they wouldnt be sour turns out their just sourer then the last), and near the end of the park you enter this huge place. Giant beautiful glass buildings each different from each other, consisting of an aquarium, a planetarium, a science museum, and an arts building. It was so expensive to get in so we didn't ended up venturing inside but from the outside it was still just as beautiful. In turn we ended up actually wandering into like a marathon expo, meaning the running type of marathon. They were setting up to have a race for the next day to start though so all these fitness type companys were selling stuff and giving free stuff out. I managed to snatch a bag which has actually broken on both sides already but im handy and just tied em back. Btw the we is a group of people I met from the hostel, consisting of a couple of italian and spanish guys that knew each other back in the day and a couple aussie guys. During some of the night life we ended up running in the street into these spanish girl who were trying to find the way to get to a bar, in turn we ended up spending the rest of that night and the next hanging out with them. There was a really cool jazz bar we went to that was actually the one they were trying to find that was actually completely empty besides our group but it had a very chill cool vibe to it.
None of this about Valencia is in any sort of order to what I did there, its all kind of a blur by now, but as I remember things I type. The first night actually how I met everybody was that there was supposed to be paella made in the kitchen of the hostel for us to have, so we waited for a couple of hours and it turned out that they weren't actually making any that night. So all us starving people chipped in and made a giant pasta. The next night was when they did actually make the paella in a giant wok. I didn't really like it much, though there are many kinds of paella so im trying to keep my judgement at bay. I havn't gotten the chance though to try the other kinds and am already out of Spain but I have a feeling I will end up back there some day. Speaking of food I have become obsessed with kabobs. Not the kind of kabob that is popping into americans heads as they read this. Its more of like a tortilla with chicken or beef, vegetables, a special kabob sauce, and anything else that specific store will put in it. The kabobs in Valencia and Alicante were delicious. In Barcelona I kept trying them and though they were tasty they were not the same at all, plus they had fries and corn and random things that were unusual.
I think this about sums up Valencia in a quick random thoughts kind of way. I am trying to put my rambling to a minimum since I have gotten feed back that my posts are way to long. In Valencia it turned out that one of the guys I met lived in Barcelona and was driving there the next day so I caught a ride to Barcelona on Saturday. Thus begins my epic fantastic week in Barcelona.
